KIDS FIRE & SAFETY

This site teaches you how to be prepared for disasters and prevent disaster damage. You can also learn what causes disasters, play games, read stories and become a Disaster Action Kid. And don't forget to learn about FEMA. A story about my search for a disaster-proof shell is great reading, too!

Smokey's Resources

A long time ago, a little Dalmatian puppy sat outside the fence at the school. The puppy loved watching the children play. He wanted to play with the children, but he was very shy.
Each year in the United States an estimated 2,800 children age 14 or younger are injured and 850 killed in residential fires. Of these children, over 40 percent are under the age five, 70 percent are under the age of 10. Because the majority of fire casualties occur in children under the age of 10, USFA Kids is targeted towards that age group.
I'm an Arson Dog with the Office of Fire Prevention and Control (OFPC), and I'll be your guide through the Kids' Room Fire Safety site.
Smokey Bear has been a member of our families since 1944. The purpose of the Smokey Program is to create and maintain public awareness, through the image of Smokey Bear, about the need to prevent unplanned, human-caused wildland fires.
